Review From MUZIQ For EVERYONE:By Natalie Adis (USA)
John Padovano

(The Return Of Rainy Day Hobo)

This man truly is a folk/acoustic genius. He will amaze you when you hear his voice along with his muical talents and lyrics. His CD "The Return Of The Rainy Day Hobo" will have you feel as if your in a calm setting like a small lounge/local cafe. This music is great and different in many wonderful ways.

Rating: ****

Cafe Improv TV30 (Broadcasts from the
Arts Council Of Princeton)2002:

"John Padovano
Exquisite jazz voicings on his guitar and subtle, sophisticated
vocals make John our keynote act of the evening.
John is a favorite of both our in-house and
television audiences. "

Reviews and comments on TDRS:

AIMEE EDMUNDS:
" I liked this album. . . and I'm pretty impressed with this artist's depth. . . "

ENGLAND, 5/2/01 freefolk.com, MIKE RAVEN:
"The outstanding track is Dusty Road. If that does not bring a tear to your eye nothing ever will. It is a perfect little song. . . Simple truths and keenly observed details of life in general stream from Padovano's pen and are performed in a misleadingly easy and natural voice."

John Padovano performs solo year round along the Jersey shore (USA) at
coffeehouses and cafes. He was born in Newark, New Jersey (USA) and then moved
to the shore area where he recorded and released six independent albums.
"innocent waters" was recorded live in studio with no overdubs.

". . .A great sound. . .A very well done CD."

Ann Aljian, USA:
It's not just the one song I liked - the WHOLE THING - as usual, goes right to my heart! It swings, it lilts,
it's...trueness itself.

March/April 2002:

" His work is new to me... He works out of . . New Jersey.
I sat back to listen. And the initial reaction is good. He has a tuneful
voice. . . On some tracks he has a percussion backing. But that is it.
No studio gimmicks. I tried to get a handle on it. He was reminiscent of SOMEONE, but I could not think just WHO exactly. At first I thought
of another guy from New Jersey, Bruce Springsteen. But although there
were touches of "the Boss", the link was elsewhere. I quickly moved from
Loudon Wainwright III, to the early Dylan (both his guitar and harmonica were too good to be Mr. Zimmerman's), and then I hit upon it. OF COURSE:
. . . The Incredible String Band! Indeed his voice is a curious amalgam of
Robin Williamson's and Mike Heron's, and the song lyrics have that same ability to run the gamut when it comes to subject matter. . .

"
The singer, songwriter and bluesman will feature songs from his last four CD’s: “Cattailsville Ballet (without orchestra)”, “The Return of Rainy Day Hobo”, “Innocent Waters”, and “The Dusty Road Session.” With “subtle, sophisticated vocals,” intelligent lyrics, and “exquisite jazz voicings on his guitar,” Padovano is a true musical personality. A Belford, NJ, native, Padovano is a familiar voice to audiences throughout the shore area. "

"This cd doesn't only have to be a vehicle for Padovano's memories. I know the album took me back to a very happy time on the Asbury boardwalk. . . The term "less is more" was never more appropriate than when I listened to John Padovano's latest release, "songs from a boardwalk music hall." Utilizing only his blues-tinged vocals, an acoustic guitar and a harmonica, Padovano takes the listener on a trip through the memoirs of The Ironbound Crooner. . . " august 2005

"John Padovano is a throw-back to a simpler time when compact discs weren't even a thought and good music came on the radio from legendary crooners." July 29, 2005

" I love (the) music!! I love the sound, the music and the words!!" July 28, 2005
Maureen Nevin - Asbury Radio 88.1 FM Asbury Park, NJ usa (Aug 23, 2005)
"''The Dusty Road Session'' remains an intimate album where Padovano's voice and acoustic guitar resonate as the only components to the album's music. Despite the simplicity, Padovano shows depth, and his live performances in the coming months should be no exception. "
